THE MEAD, THURLESTONE
A single storey property in the heart of Thurlestone with glorious views of the sea and surrounding countryside. We remodelled and extended this property to create a space that worked for how our clients wanted to live. We opened up a disjointed cluster of rooms to create a large open plan living space with a brand new modern kitchen with quartz worktops and a large central island, and a walk in pantry. Bespoke cabinetry was designed and installed to crest a boot room, which leads to the new rear extension which incorporates a utility room and garden store. The front of the property was replaced with a glass frontage incorporating two sets of sliding doors, a picture window to frame the view of the sea from the lounge and bifold doors out onto one of two patios. This required extensive propping and management when installing the steel frame to support the roof structure and blockwork above. We installed new windows and doors throughout, as well as smart, electric blinds in the living areas. New electrics and plumbing were installed throughout with a smart heating system. The bathrooms were redesigned and replaced with high end fittings, tiling and panelling as well as an iPad niche at the end of the bath as requested by our wonderful clients. New flooring was laid throughout with our clients opting for LVT in the high traffic areas, carpet and tiles. The home was re-rendered, painted, new soffit and up-down lighting were installed. The external works included a frameless glass balustrade, two linked patios and repairs and rendering to external garden walls.
